SHARK TROUBLE By Sam Lloyd Illustrated by Jack Tickle
Far, far away in the middle of the deep blue sea were two blue seas were two small islands. On Banana Island there lived a little chimp named George And on Coconut Island there lived a little chimp named Jess One day, George saw Jess and thought “WOW, she looks friendly!” And Jess saw George and thought “Hey, he looks nice!” And they both thought about how much fun it would be to share a banana milkshake and a piece of coconut cake But there was a problem In the deep blue sea between the two islands there were………SHARKS “Yummy! Yummy! Food for my tummy!” The sharks sang when they saw the little chimps George and Jess wanted to be together so much They both thought a lot of silly ideas George tried to fly across the ocean to the coconut island by banana leave-wings Jess tried to dig a tunnel to the banana island George tried to use banana peels to ski-surf across the water Jess even tried to wear scary costumes to scar the sharks away But they didn’t work Both of them climbed to the top of trees to think some new ideas Something amazing happened As they climbed higher, the trees bend down Finally the trees meet together and form a leafy knot. They can meet together and shark banana milkshake and coconut cakes
